Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures with precision and patient comfort
- Process and handle specimens according to CLIA and OSHA guidelines
- Maintain accurate patient records and specimen documentation
- Operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment including analyzers and centrifuges
- Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed in all procedures
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparation and procedure details
- Collaborate with medical staff to optimize workflow and efficiency
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques and specimen handling
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to calm anxious patients
- Attention to detail in documentation and quality control procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced medical environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required
