Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures following OSHA and CLIA guidelines
- Process and label specimens with 100% accuracy for laboratory testing
- Maintain sterile equipment and infection control protocols
- Verify patient identity and prepare specimens for transport
- Utilize EHR systems for documentation and inventory management
- Provide patient education and comfort during procedures
- Collaborate with healthcare team for efficient workflow
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in hospital or lab setting
- Current BLS certification from AHA
- Proficiency in EHR systems and specimen processing software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Valid Texas state phlebotomy license
