Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen collection following strict protocols
- Process and label specimens with precision to maintain integrity
- Utilize provided advanced phlebotomy equipment (including butterfly needles, evacuated tubes, and automated analyzers)
- Ensure patient comfort through gentle techniques and clear communication
- Maintain sterile workstations and adhere to HIPAA compliance standards
- Collaborate with lab staff for efficient specimen processing
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Current Missouri Phlebotomy Technician certification or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- Proficiency with venipuncture techniques and specimen handling
- Excellent interpersonal skills for patient interaction
- Ability to work efficiently with provided medical equipment
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Basic computer skills for electronic record management
