Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collections across diverse patient populations
- Process, label, and transport specimens following strict HIPAA and CLIA protocols
- Verify patient identities and maintain detailed electronic health records
- Calibrate and maintain phlebotomy equipment in optimal condition
- Provide patient education and comfort during blood draw procedures
- Collaborate with laboratory staff for seamless specimen workflow
- Adhere to infection control and safety regulations at all times
Qualifications
- Current Michigan Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience in hospital setting
- Valid BLS/CPR certification
- Proficient in LIS systems (e.g., Cerner, Epic)
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environment
