Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures with precision and patient comfort
- Process and label specimens according to CLIA and HIPAA compliance standards
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in EHR systems
- Calibrate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
- Train new staff on phlebotomy protocols and safety procedures
- Collaborate with physicians and laboratory teams for efficient workflow
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NCCT, or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Valid North Carolina phlebotomy license
- Proven expertise in pediatric, geriatric, and difficult venipuncture
- Advanced knowledge of OSHA bloodborne pathogen standards
- CPR/BLS certification required
- Exceptional communication and patient advocacy skills
