Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary puncture, and microcollection procedures with precision and patient comfort
- Process and label specimens according to CLIA and HIPAA compliance standards
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in electronic health systems
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and transportation of biological specimens
- Provide exceptional patient education and support during blood collection procedures
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure timely sample processing
- Adhere to strict infection control and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Current Texas Phlebotomy Technician certification (PTC or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques for diverse patient populations
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA, and CLIA regulations
- CPR/BLS certification required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality standards
- Experience with electronic health record systems (EHR)
