Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collections following HIPAA and OSHA protocols
- Process and label specimens with meticulous attention to detail and quality control
- Provide exceptional patient care with empathy during blood draw procedures
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including centrifuges and analyzers
- Document patient information and test results in electronic health records
- Collaborate with clinical team to ensure seamless patient workflow
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Current NJ Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proficient in specimen processing and handling procedures
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced healthcare environment
- Experience with EHR systems (Epic preferred)
