Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures
- Process and label specimens according to laboratory protocols
- Maintain sterile techniques and infection control standards
- Operate and troubleshoot phlebotomy equipment (provided)
- Document patient information and test results in EMR systems
- Provide exceptional patient care and communication
- Calibrate and maintain phlebotomy devices
- Adhere to OSHA and HIPAA compliance guidelines
Qualifications
- Current NYS Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience
- CPR/BLS certification from recognized provider
- Proficiency in specimen processing and handling
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Experience with electronic medical records preferred
