Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages.
- Prepare and process blood samples for laboratory analysis with strict adherence to protocols.
- Maintain a sterile environment and strictly follow infection control and safety guidelines.
- Manage patient records and ensure full compliance with HIPAA privacy regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients to alleviate anxiety and explain procedures clearly.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure timely specimen delivery.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Previous experience in a clinical or outpatient setting is preferred but not always required.
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
