Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages using strict aseptic techniques.
- Ensure accurate patient identification and proper specimen labeling for laboratory testing.
- Maintain and sterilize all phlebotomy equipment and supplies in accordance with safety protocols.
- Handle sensitive patient interactions with empathy, patience, and professionalism.
- Accurately record patient data, demographics, and test results into electronic health records (EHR).
- Assist with blood drives and mobile phlebotomy duties when required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
Qualifications
- Current Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Medical Assistant with phlebotomy experience.
- Valid California State Phlebotomy License.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent clinical phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings while maintaining accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-service oriented attitude.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift patients if necessary.
