Responsibilities
- Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Evaluate patient symptoms via phone and in-person to accurately determine medical acuity and urgency levels.
- Decision Making: Make rapid, clinical routing decisions, directing patients to the Emergency Department, Urgent Care, or appropriate primary care specialists.
- Documentation: Maintain precise and timely documentation of patient interactions within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Patient Support: Provide empathetic, clear, and reassuring communication to patients and their families during stressful medical situations.
- Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other staff to optimize patient flow and care plans.
- Compliance: Adhere strictly to HIPAA guidelines, hospital protocols, and safety regulations at all times.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Valid and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York.
- Certifications: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with specific preference for triage or emergency room experience.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, assessment, and prioritization skills.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Technical: Proficiency in navigating Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
