Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages with a focus on patient comfort and safety.
- Label, log, and prepare blood samples for laboratory analysis accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and OSHA safety standards at all times.
- Greet patients, verify patient information, and answer general questions regarding the testing process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including sterilizing equipment and sanitizing workstations.
- Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, and laboratory staff to ensure smooth workflow.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Excellent manual dexterity and ability to handle stress in high-volume settings.
- Strong communication skills with a compassionate, patient-centric attitude.
- Reliable transportation (mobile phlebotomy roles may be available).
