Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen collection following OSHA and CLIA guidelines
- Process and label specimens with 100% accuracy for laboratory testing
- Verify patient identity and maintain complete electronic health records
- Calibrate equipment and troubleshoot collection issues
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparation and aftercare
- Collaborate with lab staff and physicians for efficient workflow
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and infection control protocols
Qualifications
- Current Ohio Phlebotomy Technician certification (or eligible)
- Minimum 6 months clinical experience preferred
- Excellent venipuncture skills with minimal patient discomfort
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- CPR/BLS certification required (training provided if needed)
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional offsite draws
