Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary punctures, and specialized blood draws for diverse patient populations
- Process and label specimens with 100% accuracy for laboratory testing
- Maintain strict adherence to OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA compliance standards
- Operate automated blood collection systems and point-of-care testing devices
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparation procedures
- Manage inventory of phlebotomy supplies and equipment maintenance
- Collaborate with nursing staff and lab personnel for seamless workflow
Qualifications
- Current Texas Phlebotomy Technician certification (required)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification from American Heart Association
- Proven ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for diverse patient interactions
- Attention to detail with specimen handling documentation
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Background check and drug screen clearance
