Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection following established protocols
- Process, label, and transport specimens to laboratory with 100% accuracy
- Maintain sterile equipment and proper infection control procedures
- Provide patient education and comfort during blood draw procedures
- Document all procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to resolve specimen issues
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and safety regulations
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques and specimen handling
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation systems
- Valid CPR certification
- Nebraska state license (if required)
