Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Process and label specimens according to CLIA and HIPAA standards
- Maintain sterile equipment and infection control protocols
- Document patient information and test results accurately in EMR systems
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure efficient workflow and quality assurance
- Train junior technicians on best practices and safety procedures
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for patient experience
Qualifications
- Current Washington Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Expertise in pediatric, geriatric, and difficult venipuncture access
- CPR/BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross
- Proficiency with LIS/HIS systems and electronic documentation
- Exceptional communication skills for diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
- Commitment to continuing education and industry certifications
