Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections with precision and minimal discomfort
- Process and label specimens according to HIPAA and CLIA standards
- Maintain sterile environments and equipment calibration
- Provide patient education and emotional support during procedures
- Collaborate with laboratory and clinical teams for seamless care coordination
- Document all procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Adhere to OSHA and facility-specific safety protocols
Qualifications
- Current Hawaii Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in venipuncture
- Strong knowledge of infection control and specimen handling
- CPR/BLS certification from AHA or equivalent
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure with attention to detail
- Proficiency with EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Valid Hawaii driver's license for mobile collection duties
