Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections following OSHA and CLIA standards
- Process and label specimens accurately for laboratory analysis
- Maintain sterile techniques and proper specimen handling protocols
- Verify patient identity and prepare blood products for transfusion
- Document all procedures in EMR systems with precision
- Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure seamless patient flow
- Calibrate equipment and maintain inventory of supplies
Qualifications
- Current California Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT)
- Minimum 1 year recent clinical experience
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques and specimen processing
- OSHA and HIPAA compliance expertise
- Exceptional patient communication and empathy skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
- Basic computer proficiency with EMR systems
- Valid BLS/CPR certification
