Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages with precision and care.
- Verify patient identity and accurately prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and sterile techniques.
- Ensure patient comfort and provide clear instructions during the blood draw process.
- Collaborate with nurses, doctors, and lab personnel to ensure timely specimen processing.
- Manage inventory of supplies and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex laboratory protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction.
- Reliable transportation and ability to work varied shifts, including weekends.
