Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary draws on patients of all ages with precision and minimal discomfort.
- Verify patient identification and accurately complete requisition forms and labels.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and transportation of blood specimens to the laboratory.
- Assist with patient intake, vitals monitoring, and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure timely specimen processing.
- Adhere strictly to OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA compliance standards.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Phlebotomy Student graduating within 6 months.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred but not mandatory for top candidates.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to calm anxious patients.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
