Responsibilities
- Perform routine venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages.
- Verify patient identities and accurately explain phlebotomy procedures to ensure patient comfort.
- Properly label, process, and store blood specimens according to laboratory protocols and HIPAA guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile work environment.
- Manage inventory of supplies and notify management of stock needs.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure timely specimen delivery.
- Handle patient inquiries and resolve issues with professionalism and empathy.
Qualifications
- Current ASCP or equivalent Phlebotomy Certification required.
- Active Kentucky Phlebotomy license.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- CPR/BLS certification (American Heart Association) is mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
