Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws with precision, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Label, process, and transport blood specimens accurately to the laboratory for testing.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA compliance and sterile technique protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and answering questions to alleviate anxiety.
- Manage inventory of phlebotomy supplies and ensure equipment is properly sterilized and maintained.
- Document patient information and test results accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Phlebotomy Specialist certification required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record (for mobile phlebotomy roles, if applicable).
- Ability to work well under pressure in a high-volume clinical setting.
