Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary draws with precision, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Verify patient identities and accurately label all blood specimens for laboratory processing.
- Utilize and maintain our fully provided phlebotomy equipment and supply inventory.
- Collaborate effectively with nursing staff and physicians to ensure seamless patient care.
- Transport and handle blood samples securely in compliance with laboratory protocols.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and infection control standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT), Phlebotomy Specialist, or Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Previous experience in a clinical or outpatient setting is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (for potential on-site rotations).
