Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections with precision and patient comfort
- Process, label, and transport specimens to ensure lab integrity
- Maintain strict compliance with OSHA and HIPAA regulations
- Verify patient identification and test requisition details
- Calibrate and maintain phlebotomy equipment
- Provide patient education on blood collection procedures
- Document all procedures accurately in EMR systems
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASPT or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience preferred
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Excellent venipuncture skills with minimal callbacks
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation
