Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures adhering to OSHA and CLIA standards
- Verify patient identity and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and documentation
- Process and transport specimens using proper chain-of-custody protocols
- Provide patient education during blood collection procedures
- Calibrate and maintain phlebotomy equipment
- Collaborate with laboratory and clinical teams for seamless workflow
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, AMT, or NCCT)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques and specimen processing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining precision
- Basic computer proficiency with EMR systems
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Tennessee state phlebotomy license
