As a key member of our laboratory staff, you will play a vital role in the diagnostic process by collecting blood samples accurately and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort.
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and laboratory safety protocols.
- Verify patient identity and accurately label and log specimens.
- Maintain a clean and organized phlebotomy station and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providing clear instructions and reassurance.
- Assist in the preparation of blood drives and mobile unit collections.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) from NHA, ASCP, or equivalent.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and computer literacy.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
