Responsibilities
- Collect blood specimens and other samples from patients following strict protocols
- Ensure accurate labeling, handling, and transportation of specimens to the lab
- Maintain sterile environments and infection control standards
- Provide compassionate patient care and clear communication during procedures
- Document collection information in electronic health records (EHR)
- Assist with patient registration and sample processing as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- No prior phlebotomy experience necessary – training provided
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn EHR systems
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Valid North Carolina driver's license (if required for specimen transport)
- Pass background check and pre-employment health screening
