Responsibilities
- Perform Venipunctures: Safely and accurately draw blood samples from patients using standard aseptic techniques.
- Patient Comfort: Build rapport with patients, explaining procedures to reduce anxiety and ensure a smooth collection process.
- Sample Processing: Properly label, log, and transport blood samples to the laboratory for analysis.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to strict OSHA and HIPAA safety guidelines and maintain a sterile work environment.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock phlebotomy supplies and equipment to ensure readiness for daily operations.
- Documentation: Update patient charts and electronic health records (EHR) with accurate information.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Experience: Previous phlebotomy experience is NOT required. We provide comprehensive training.
- Skills: Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software quickly.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Soft Skills: Strong empathy, excellent communication skills, and a professional demeanor.
