Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages with minimal supervision.
- Ensure proper labeling, handling, and storage of all blood samples and specimens according to laboratory protocols.
- Greet patients warmly, explain procedures to reduce anxiety, and maintain a professional, clean, and organized work area.
- Verify patient identification and ensure all consent forms and paperwork are accurately completed.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations, OSHA standards, and safety procedures at all times.
- Assist phlebotomists and medical staff with inventory management of supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Must be willing to undergo our comprehensive training program; prior medical experience is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Basic computer literacy for electronic charting and data entry.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required (we can assist with training).
