Responsibilities
- Perform routine venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages.
- Ensure patient comfort by explaining procedures and minimizing anxiety during collection.
- Verify patient identity and accurately record collection details into the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
- Maintain a sterile environment and strictly adhere to safety and infection control protocols.
- Sort, label, and prepare specimens for transport to the central laboratory.
- Assist with inventory management of blood collection supplies.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required.
- Current California State Phlebotomy License (if applicable).
- Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred but not mandatory for the right candidate.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
