Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures following OSHA and CLIA standards
- Process, label, and transport specimens to laboratory facilities with strict chain-of-custody protocols
- Verify patient identification and explain procedures to reduce anxiety and ensure compliance
- Maintain accurate patient records and electronic documentation using EMR systems
- Prepare phlebotomy trays and maintain sterile, organized workstations
- Collaborate with nursing staff and lab personnel for seamless patient care transitions
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement processes
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain during training)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional hand-eye coordination
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation
- Pass background check and pre-employment drug screening
