What You'll Do:
As a Phlebotomy Technician, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, ensuring their comfort and safety while collecting vital samples for diagnostic testing.
Responsibilities
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients warmly, explain procedures clearly, and ensure a comfortable and safe environment during the blood draw process.
- Sample Collection: Perform venipunctures and capillary draws on patients of all ages with precision and adherence to strict medical protocols.
- Specimen Handling: Properly label, process, and transport blood samples to the laboratory for analysis using strict chain-of-custody procedures.
- Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect, clean, and maintain phlebotomy equipment and supplies to ensure optimal functionality.
- Record Keeping: Accurately document patient information, test results, and venipuncture sites in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Compliance: Adhere to all HIPAA regulations, OSHA safety standards, and hospital policies at all times.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Phlebotomy certification preferred but not required for our paid training program.
- Availability: Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and detail when handling sensitive patient data and biological specimens.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive motions.
- Background Check: Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
