Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures on patients of all ages with precision and a patient-first approach.
- Ensure proper labeling, handling, and transportation of blood specimens to the laboratory.
- Maintain strict adherence to OSHA safety protocols and infection control standards.
- Verify patient identity and ensure all consent forms and documentation are accurate and complete.
- Assist patients during the blood collection process to ensure comfort and minimize anxiety.
- Manage patient records and electronic health records (EHR) efficiently.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, physicians, and laboratory personnel.
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Certification (ASPT, NHA, NCPT, or equivalent) required.
- CPR and BLS certification must be up to date.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not mandatory for highly qualified candidates.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs when necessary.
