Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during the collection process.
- Properly label, process, and transport specimens to the lab for analysis.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA and OSHA safety protocols.
- Verify patient identity and prepare necessary paperwork for testing.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to facilitate efficient patient flow.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required.
- Current, unencumbered Phlebotomy license in the State of North Carolina.
- Previous experience in a clinical or hospital setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients as needed.
- Basic computer literacy and electronic health record (EHR) experience.
