Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections with precision
- Process and label specimens according to HIPAA protocols
- Operate automated analyzers and laboratory equipment
- Maintain accurate patient records in EHR systems
- Ensure infection control compliance in all procedures
- Provide patient education and comfort during collections
- Collaborate with physicians and lab staff on specimen integrity
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- 1+ years of clinical experience in a medical setting
- Proficiency in venipuncture and capillary techniques
- Familiarity with EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and infection control knowledge
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid North Carolina phlebotomy license
