Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws with high precision and patient comfort in mind.
- Verify patient identities and accurately label specimens according to strict laboratory protocols.
- Prepare blood samples for analysis, ensuring proper handling and storage to maintain specimen integrity.
- Assist in the operation of laboratory equipment and perform routine quality control checks.
- Manage patient records and complete administrative forms, including remote documentation where applicable.
- Maintain a clean, sterile, and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and CLIA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, nurses, and physicians to ensure a seamless healthcare experience.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required.
- Current state licensure or registration as a Phlebotomy Technician in Michigan.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of professional phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient care.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
