Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections following strict protocols
- Process, label, and transport specimens accurately to maintain integrity
- Verify patient identification and maintain HIPAA-compliant documentation
- Calibrate equipment and perform quality control procedures daily
- Provide exceptional patient education during collection procedures
- Collaborate with lab staff to ensure seamless workflow
- Adhere to OSHA safety standards and infection control protocols
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in venipuncture
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and venipuncture techniques
- Excellent interpersonal skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
- Basic computer proficiency for specimen tracking systems
- Valid CPR certification preferred
