Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures across diverse patient demographics
- Process and label specimens according to HIPAA and CLIA regulations
- Maintain sterile techniques and infection control protocols
- Operate automated blood processing equipment and point-of-care testing devices
- Provide exceptional patient care with empathy during high-volume or challenging draws
- Document lab results and maintain electronic health records with 100% accuracy
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to optimize patient workflow
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) credential
- Minimum 1 year of clinical blood collection experience
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Proficient in venipuncture techniques for pediatric, geriatric, and special populations
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA and CLIA compliance standards
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to calm anxious patients
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree preferred
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
