Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and prioritize emergency cases using ESI protocols
- Collaborate with physicians to develop appropriate treatment plansDocument patient encounters accurately in Epic EMR system
- Provide education to patients and families regarding emergency care
- Monitor bed availability and coordinate patient flow throughout the ED
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives for triage accuracy
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and hospital policies
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Maryland (or compact state)
- Minimum 3 years emergency department experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- ESI (Emergency Severity Index) triage certification preferred
- Proven ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Experience with Epic EMR system preferred
