Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Phlebotomy Technician to collect blood samples and other specimens accurately and efficiently. You will play a crucial role in patient care by ensuring accurate sample collection and maintaining a high standard of service in our busy clinical facility.

Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures efficiently and accurately on patients of all ages.
- Ensure proper labeling, handling, and transport of all blood specimens according to strict laboratory protocols.
- Greet patients warmly, explain procedures to ensure comfort and cooperation, and maintain a professional demeanor.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations, OSHA standards, and infection control policies.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, lab technicians, and physicians to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Maintain accurate records of collection procedures and manage inventory of phlebotomy supplies.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as checking patients in and verifying insurance information.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required.
- Current and valid Michigan State Phlebotomy License.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new medical software systems.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is preferred.
- Previous experience in a clinical or hospital setting is a plus.
