Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures efficiently and accurately.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols and infection control standards.
- Accurately label, process, and transport specimens to the laboratory in a timely manner.
- Build rapport with patients, explaining procedures to alleviate anxiety and ensure comfort.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Assist with inventory management of phlebotomy supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required.
- Current state license (if applicable) or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency with EHR systems.
