Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Verify patient identities and ensure proper specimen labeling protocols
- Process and transport specimens to laboratory facilities maintaining chain of custody
- Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked phlebotomy stations
- Document patient interactions and specimen collections in electronic health records
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and infection control standards
- Collaborate with nursing staff to optimize patient flow and efficiency
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASPT, NCCT, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience
- Valid CPR certification
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques for diverse patient populations
- Strong attention to detail and specimen handling accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
- Excellent communication skills and patient-centered approach
- Willingness to submit to background check and drug screening
