Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection using standard techniques
- Process and label specimens accurately for laboratory analysis
- Maintain sterile equipment and proper infection control protocols
- Verify patient identification and prepare specimens for transport
- Document procedures and patient information in electronic health records
- Provide patient education during blood draw procedures
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NCCT, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in phlebotomy
- Tennessee phlebotomy license (if applicable)
- CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA compliance
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in fast-paced environments
