Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures on diverse patient populations
- Process and label specimens according to CLIA and OSHA standards
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Ensure proper handling and transport of biological samples
- Calibrate and maintain phlebotomy equipment
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparation
- Adhere to infection control protocols and safety guidelines
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in venipuncture
- Valid Tennessee phlebotomy license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Excellent venipuncture skills on diverse patient demographics
- Proficiency in LIS/HIS systems
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
