Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws with precision and a focus on patient comfort.
- Verify patient identities and accurately label specimens in strict adherence to laboratory protocols.
- Maintain a clean, sterile, and organized work environment to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, alleviate anxiety, and ensure informed consent.
- Process and transport specimens to the laboratory for analysis promptly and securely.
- Update patient records and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or State Licensure required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs as needed.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
