Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures accurately and efficiently
- Process and prepare specimens for laboratory testing while maintaining chain of custody
- Provide exceptional patient care with focus on comfort and anxiety reduction
- Maintain sterile environments and adhere to OSHA/HIPAA compliance protocols
- Operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment including centrifuges and analyzers
- Document patient information and test results in EMR systems with precision
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure optimal patient flow and service quality
Qualifications
- Current Arizona Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in hospital or lab setting
- BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques for diverse patient populations
- Strong attention to detail and specimen handling accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with electronic medical records preferred
