Responsibilities
- Lead quantum algorithm research and development for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Design and execute experiments on quantum hardware systems (superconducting, trapped ion)
- Mentor a team of 5-7 quantum physicists and software engineers
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Collaborate with industry partners to commercialize quantum solutions
- Develop quantum error correction protocols for fault-tolerant systems
- Secure $2M+ in annual research grants and partnerships
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years industry experience
- Proven track record of published quantum computing research (arXiv, Nature, etc.)
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Q, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Strong background in linear algebra, quantum mechanics, and complexity theory
- Demonstrated leadership managing technical research teams
- Patent portfolio or commercial quantum project experience preferred
- Ability to secure government and private research funding
