Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Collaborate with hardware engineers on qubit architecture improvements
- Lead NIH/NSF grant proposals and secure $5M+ research funding
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information science
- Translate theoretical models into practical quantum computing frameworks
- Present findings at international conferences (QIP, APS March Meeting)
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Published research in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, PRL)
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, or similar quantum programming frameworks
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Strong background in linear algebra and complex analysis
- Experience with cryogenic quantum systems preferred
- Track record of securing government research grants
