Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for complex computational challenges in cryptography and optimization
- Develop fault-tolerant quantum computing systems with error correction rates < 10⁻⁹
- Lead cross-functional teams integrating quantum-classical hybrid architectures
- Secure federal grants and industry partnerships for quantum research initiatives
- Publish breakthrough findings in Nature/Science and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor PhD candidates and junior researchers in quantum information theory
- Collaborate with hardware teams to translate theoretical models into practical implementations
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (postdoc preferred)
- 5+ years experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Expertise in quantum error correction and topological quantum computing
- Proven track record of peer-reviewed publications in quantum algorithms
- Mastery of Python/C++ and quantum circuit optimization techniques
- Experience with quantum hardware providers (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Demonstrated ability to secure $500K+ in quantum research funding
- Strong background in machine learning for quantum applications
