Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead cross-functional research teams in developing error-correction protocols for scalable quantum systems
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to co-design quantum processors optimized for specific computational tasks
- Publish groundbreaking research in top-tier journals and present findings at major international conferences
- Develop strategic roadmaps for quantum computing applications in finance, logistics, and pharmaceuticals
- Secure external funding through NSF, DARPA, and private sector partnerships
- Mentor PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers in quantum information science
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years of research experience
- Proven track record of publishing in Nature/Science journals or equivalent tier publications
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq) and quantum circuit optimization
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction, fault tolerance, and topological quantum computing
- Experience with high-performance computing environments and quantum simulation frameworks
- Strong mathematical foundation in linear algebra, probability, and information theory
- Demonstrated ability to secure and manage multi-million dollar research grants
